    Reports to: Operations Director / Coordinator FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Dept./School: Division of Operations Minimum Duty Days: 226 days Primary Purpose: Manage and maintain parts inventory and service. Purchase and stock of all maintenance related parts and supplies. Track usage of parts and supplies and verify items assigned to work orders. Assist with department processing requisitions and tracking of purchase order deliveries. Assist with department fleet assignments, monthly inspections, maintenance and tracking of repairs. Coordinate and schedules departmental monthly safety meetings. Minimum Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED from a school recognized by the Texas Education Agency/Texas Private School Accreditation Commission
    • Three years of work experience in transportation, warehousing operations, inventory processes or related areas.
    • Supervisory work experience in warehousing operations and inventory control of supplies and materials.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, ETC.) and/or inventory control software.
    • Possess and maintain a Valid Texas Driver's License and Clear Driving record throughout employment. Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Knowledge of Inventory Management (Safety stock, reordering level, par level, receiving, storing, FIFO and physical inventory)
    • Ability to use scanning equipment and inventory software.
    • Knowledge of repair parts and maintenance supplies in the areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and other general trades.
    • Knowledge of procurement processes and/or expediting strategies
    • Knowledge of standard safety processes, procedures and requirements in general maintenance or construction settings. Major Responsibilities and Duties:

      1. Assists maintenance supervisors with the ordering and proper stock of maintenance parts and supplies of HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, locksmith, electrical, painting, alarm, and other maintenance trades and services as needed.
      2. Ensures the proper tracking and issuing of parts and supplies to maintenance technicians.
      3. Ensures the proper tracking of maintenance equipment such as generators, scaffolds, man lifts, ventilators, power tools, etc.
      4. Documents and tracks all tools and equipment issued to Maintenance staff.
      5. Facilitates the delivering of equipment and parts to technicians located at campuses and departments
      6. Assist with tasks related to the implementation of inventory control systems for the parts and supplies department. Monitors and reports on the vehicle fleet software system (GPS) to ensure proper utilization of District assets.
      7. Develops layout and organize an efficient labeling system for stock room.
      8. Keeps updated copies of HAZMAT sheets for the operations department.
      9. Responsible for the proper disposal of light bulbs, batteries and other recyclables for the maintenance department.
      10. Stores and issues keys for white fleet assigned to the operations department.
      11. Generates incident reports for vehicle accidents affecting maintenance vehicles.
      12. Assists department is committee evaluations related to maintenance parts and equipment.
      13. Ensures proper documentation of personal protective equipment distribution.
      14. Coordinates, schedules and participates in all required safety training sessions for the department.
      15. Follows designated procedures for requisition of parts, supplies and contracted repair services.
      16. Complies with all state and local policies and guidelines.
      17. Works with principals, administrators and supervisors to complete projects.
      18. Responds to emergency calls as needed.
      19. Maintains and conducts checks on warehouse equipment to make sure it is in proper operating condition, maintained properly and requests warehouse supplies on as needed bases.
      20. Equipment includes, but not limited to district vehicles trailers, forklifts, dollies, pallet jacks, lifts, floor fans, exhaust fans, and overhead doors.
      21. Coordinates preventive maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment.
      22. Operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
      23. Promotes safety and wears Personal Protective Equipment to perform job duties.

        1. Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
        2. Ensures warehouse and work areas are accessible and safe for visitors and fellow employees and must maintained clean at all times. Sweep, dust and mop as deemed necessary.
        3. Safeguards materials, supplies and equipment against damage and theft.
        4. Ability to counsel, coach, guide, and train employees for improved performance and for accepting increased responsibility.
        5. Demonstrates respectfulness by communicating effectively with fellow coworkers and staff to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
        6. Maintain professional relationship with fellow coworkers and administrators.
        7. Maintain confidentiality of information.
        8. Must participate in planned in-service training sessions and relevant workshops.

        11. Must wear LISD issued uniform when reporting to duty and adhere to the dress code administrative regulation.

        Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises clerks/drivers and the small engine repair mechanic assigned to the Parts and Supplies Department. Equipment Used Calculator, hand trucks, dollies, pallet jacks, forklift, district vehicles, ladders. Telephones, Personal Computer, Copier, Printer, Fax, Scanner, Portable Binding Equip., Electric Stapler, Label Maker, and Paper Cutter, GPS equipment tracking devices, and iPADs.
