Summary:

Assumes responsibility, under the direction of the Clinical Manager, Invasive Cardiology Lab, for the coordination of all operational activities in the Cath Lab. Monitors operations in order to ensure delivery of high quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supports the effective delivery of patient care, patient satisfaction, and efficient use of resources: (30%)
  • Schedules, organizes and standardizes support area to facilitate patient-centered workflow.
  • Ensures department is covered at all times and assigns job related duties as necessary.
  • Ensures the accurate and efficient scheduling of patients for procedures, obtaining all required patient information and clearances.
  • Collaborates closely with CV Invasive Lab Manager to respond to concerns, inquiries and requests for assistance related to the services of the CV Invasive Lab.
  1. Interviews, hires, trains, coaches and evaluates the performance of non-clinical staff within the CV Invasive Lab. (15%)

  2. Ensures completion and distribution of daily schedules. Compiles weekly and monthly reports with CV Invasive Lab statistics for accurate verification of procedures. Reconciles billing and reimbursement to procedure statistics. Manages changes to on-call schedules and ensures distribution. (20%)

  3. Contributes to and actively participates in continuous improvement within the CV Invasive Lab and Nuvance Health, tracking relevant patient care indicators and other indices used to audit department''s operations as requested. (10%)

  4. Provides departmental administrative support including but not limited to: Coordination of Cath Conferences, STEMI meetings, and ad hoc meetings. Responsible for booking dates, conference space and equipment. Ensures policies and procedures are updated as required. (10%)

  5. Acts as liaison between the department and all internal departments, physician offices, and external customers. Educates and builds relationships with stakeholders to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the CV Invasive Lab. (15%)

  6. Performs other duties as required

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Medical Office administrative experience.
  • PREFER: One (1) year college or specialized post-high school training in medical terminology and medical office procedures.
  • PREFER: Prior Cath Lab Experience.
