    Job Summary:

    The Inpatient Rehab Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Inpatient Rehabilitation department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role partners with Rehab and Hospital Leadership to manage clinical operations, staff performance, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational excellence. Responsibilities include hiring, coaching, and developing team members, overseeing department metrics, referrals, scheduling, quality initiatives, and accreditation readiness. The Supervisor also represents Rehabilitation on interdisciplinary committees and spends approximately 50% of their time providing direct patient care as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist.

    Job responsibilities:

    • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of the Inpatient Rehabilitation team, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and employee engagement.
    • Oversee departmental operations, including staffing, patient flow, supply management, budgeting support, and key performance metrics.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (DPH, Joint Commission), quality initiatives, patient safety, and infection prevention practices.
    • Lead process improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency, patient outcomes, and the overall patient experience.
    • Collaborate with hospital leadership and interdisciplinary teams on strategic initiatives, quality improvement, and patient care planning.
    • Represent Rehabilitation on hospital committees and participate in performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
    • Maintain clinical competency and provide direct patient care approximately 50% of the time as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist, including evaluation, treatment planning, intervention, patient/family education, care coordination, and documentation.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Physical Therapist: Bachelor''s degree in Physical Therapy (Master''s or DPT preferred) OR
    • Occupational Therapist: Bachelor''s degree in Occupational Therapy (Master''s or OTD preferred) OR
    • Speech-Language Pathologist: Master''s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Clinical Doctorate/PhD preferred)

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience
    • Experience serving as a clinical instructor or mentor
    • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
