Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Manager II, the Supervisor II has managerial responsibility over the professional analyst staff and the legal support staff working within the Privacy Protection Program, Records Coordination Unit, and Legal Support Unit which includes: a Supervisor I, Analyst I, Analyst II, and all classes of legal support staff. The Supervisor II has direct supervisory responsibility over the Legal Support Unit legal secretaries, the Records Coordination analysts, and the Privacy Protection Program Supervisor I, and analyst. The Supervisor II is responsible for prioritizing workloads and striving to continually improve the quality of the work and efficiency of processes.
Manage all classes of legal support staff who perform administrative functions which include, but are not limited to, preparation of pleadings, correspondence, discovery, filings, and service documents, paralegal and data analyses of legal data, statutes, and case law, Public Records Act request coordination, subpoena response coordination, and privacy protection tasks. This responsibility will include reviewing staff work and developing, approving, and implementing internal policies and procedures.
Responsible for coaching and mentoring subordinate staff. Responsible for drafting evaluation of performance and preparation of probationary reports for direct reports and review performance evaluations and probationary reports of other subordinate staff. Responsible for drafting and issuing disciplinary actions, if necessary, for direct reports and oversight and review of any disciplinary actions for other subordinate staff. Responsible for monitoring actions of subordinate staff, including time off and absence reports.
