Unit Supervisor | 2nd Shift

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 1:00 PM-9:30 PM
Training: 1st shift
Type: Full-Time Contract | On-Site
We’re hiring a Unit Supervisor to lead warehouse and operations employees in a fast-paced distribution environment. This position will focus on achieving departmental goals in safety, quality, efficiency, scheduling, cost control, and continuous improvement while providing hands-on leadership to the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead warehouse/operations employees to meet daily performance goals
- Monitor individual and department performance and address performance or process issues
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity
- Investigate and resolve system, material, personnel, and process-related issues
- Enforce company policies, procedures, work rules, and safety regulations
- Ensure employees receive appropriate training, work instructions, and tools
- Support equipment and facility planning to maximize uptime and utilization
- Manage departmental costs and support operating budget targets
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and 5S activities
- Support capacity and manpower planning based on operational needs
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline OR 1+ years of equivalent relevant work experience
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution and material flow processes
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with both salaried and hourly employees
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work 2nd shift and overtime as required, including occasional weekends
- Metatarsal footwear required
Preferred Experience:
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a union environment
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) and 5S methodology
- Experience with incentive pay systems, work measurement, or Continuous Improvement Pay Plans
- Experience using statistical tools and techniques for quality management
- Project management experience
- Experience with capacity and manpower planning
