Description

Job title : Supervisor II

Client : Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company

Duration : 12 Months (Possibility of extension and conversion)

Location : Milan, IL, 61264

Shift : 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM–9:30 PM
Training will be provided on 1st shift. Overtime is needed.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and lead production, maintenance, and warehouse employees to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Develop and execute departmental plans to meet safety, quality, production schedules, efficiency, and continuous improvement targets.
Monitor daily production activities, employee performance, and workflow to ensure operational efficiency.
Investigate, analyze, and resolve equipment, process, material, and employee-related issues to reduce costs and improve performance.
Enforce company policies, procedures, work rules, and disciplinary practices.
Monitor individual and team performance and take corrective action when necessary.
Work with the Safety Team to enforce safety regulations and prevent workplace injuries.
Plan and coordinate equipment and facility maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and utilization.
Manage departmental expenses and control operating costs within established budget targets.
Maintain effective communication with employees and management, providing feedback, guidance, and support.
Ensure employees receive proper training, work instructions, and tools to perform their responsibilities successfully.
Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance.
Serve as the first-line liaison between production employees and management to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
Visa Sponsorship: Not available now or soon.
Safety Requirement: Metatarsal shoes required.
Lead the department to execute and achieve established performance metrics.

Qualifications

Must-Have Requirements:

Ability to work multiple shifts and overtime as required, including some weekends.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with both salaried and hourly employees.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Knowledge of warehouse distribution and material flow processes.

What Makes a Candidate Stand Out:

Experience supervising or leading a team in a union environment.
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) and 5S methodology.
Experience with an incentive pay system such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan) and work measurement.
Experience using statistical tools and techniques for quality management.
Knowledge or work experience in project management.
Experience with capacity and manpower planning.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
Or 1+ years of equivalent work experience.
