    Overview
    An advanced diagnostic laboratory in DeLand, Florida, is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor II to oversee operations within its Auto Chemistry department. This is a full-time evening shift role scheduled Tuesday-Friday, 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM, with one working Saturday every 12 weeks. This supervisor will guide a team of lab professionals, ensure workflow efficiency, maintain regulatory compliance, and lead quality improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Departmental Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring proper workflow from sample processing to reporting.
    • Leadership & Training: Support staff training, competency evaluations, and team development plans.
    • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Uphold internal policies and regulatory standards (CAP, CLIA, state-specific).
    • Operational Efficiency: Monitor workload, resolve issues, and provide bench coverage when needed.
    • Performance Management: Conduct evaluations, monitor KPIs, and support continuous improvement.
    • Staffing: Create staffing plans, manage scheduling, and handle employment-related actions with approvals.

    Qualifications - Must-Haves

    • 6-8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist/Supervisor
    • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field
    • Valid Florida Supervisor License in Chemistry
    • Certification from a recognized agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT)

    Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Experience

    • Previous experience in a high-volume reference laboratory
