Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Supervisor position is responsible for assisting the Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Engineering Department. This includes building maintenance, facility services, and facilities related regulatory compliance. This position oversees required maintenance activities, works with facilities vendors, and ensures compliance with safety regulations. The Facilities Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and functional environment for patients, visitors and team members.
Principal Accountabilities:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler plant and all building infrastructure components.
Coordinate routine repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance schedules, and emergency repairs.
Reviews and maintains facility documentation. Assures that service is completed, and that the documentation submitted into the CMMS is accurate & complete.
Ensure that all systems meet regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
Works with third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers to support the facility.
Ensure that vendors deliver services according to expectations.
Ensure that vendors follow facility safety requirements.
Assists Manager in enforcing ILSM protocols during fire detection/suppression equipment impairment.
Ensure the facility complies with all local and national safety regulations related to facility operations (CMS, TJC, NFPA, NJDOH, NJDEP)
Assists Manager in enforcing safety protocols during fire detection/suppression equipment impairment.
Assist Manager to maintain records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs for compliance documentation.
Report monthly expenses to the Facilities Manager, ensuring that all facility-related costs remain within budget.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and report them to the Manager for review.
Assist in the implementation of Facilities emergency procedures for various situations (flooding, power, HVAC, domestic water, sewer outages and any utility impairments etc.).
Coordinate Facilities emergency response teams and ensure preparedness for unforeseen events.
Assist with facility operation during major events or incidents, providing, support and communication to leadership.
Promote sustainable practices and energy-saving initiatives within the facility.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Facilities Manager.
Supervise a team of Boiler operators, Carpenters, General Maintenance mechanics, Electricians, HVAC mechanics, Painters, Plumbers, and other facility-related team members. Provide guidance, training, and performance management to ensure team members meet required standards.

Required:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Minimum two-year experience in a supervisory position in a Facilities Department
Facilities experience in a Healthcare Facilities Department
Preferred:
