Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Serves as an expert in a particular field of engineering in support of restoration and repair activities.- Provides technical support for engineers working restoration and repair activities for electronic and mechanical systems, including support systems and weapon systems.- Work pertains to electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment, including HF, UHF, VHF, Radar and Sonar.- Complexity of assignments typically requires considerable creativity and judgement to devise approaches to accomplish work, resolve design and operational problems, and make decisions in situations where standard engineering methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicable.- May supervise or train and be assisted by lower-level technicians.REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE- Five years supervisory experience.- Five years in performing the most complex testing, repair, overhaul, and installations on a variety of electronic equipment including systems.- Five years’ experience in repair and overhaul modules, sub-assemblies, components, and systems.- Five years’ experience working with test and repair standards, blueprints, drawings and manuals, and applying advanced technical knowledge to solve unusual and complex problems.- Ability to apply practical electronic theory.- Demonstrated ability to read and work from technical drawings, schematics and rough sketches.- Demonstrated experience using advanced electronic test equipment.Education: HS Diploma or equivalentTravel Required: 0%Work Location: San Diego, CAThis position is required to have and maintain a Secret US DoD security clearance.PREFERRED SKILLSQuality Management System (QMS) experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2008.REMARKSMust be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.Compensation: $43.51 - $50.37 an hour.Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.This labor category is a hard to fill position.EOE M/F/Disability/VeteranWhen responding to this posting please reference job # SD26-129 Supervisor, Electronics Technician (Depot)
