Monday through Friday 5:30 a.m. to 2: 00 p.m. the jobholder supervises lead custodians, custodians and any other assigned staff for all college facilities and campuses. S/he schedules and assigns work and inspects areas to confirm tasks were completed properly. This position is responsible for overseeing the performance and reporting of service requests assigned by his/her supervisor in the college's electronic service request system. The jobholder is responsible for maintaining the college's buildings to the APPA standards set by the college. S/he is responsible for issuing supplies and equipment, and for maintaining records of services completed. The Custodial Services Supervisor is responsible for reporting deficiencies observed and coordinating with the custodial contractor during the assigned shift. S/he evaluates assigned personnel and makes recommendations for promotion/disciplinary actions to the Buildings and Custodial Services Manager.

Min Salary $40,172.55 Mid Salary $45,194.12 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job.   • High School Diploma or GED Certificate

Education Preferred Experience Required

  • Five years of custodial supervisory experience

Experience Preferred

  • Experience in an educational facility preferred.

KSA Required

  • General knowledge and expertise in cleaning techniques
  • General knowledge of custodial maintenance functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy and bulky objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to work rapidly and correctly on task requiring physical strength and stamina
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the operations of the department
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge for the care/cleaning of various floor finishes and surfaces, custodial products and equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship with manager, co-workers, faculty, staff, students and the general public.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and reports and competent in the use of computers/tablets to produce such correspondence and reports
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and internet.
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift and at any campus as assigned.

KSA Preferred Department/Job Specific Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, stoop, bend, climb, stand and walk as required to perform assigned duties.
  • Requires kneeling, crawling, bending, turning and reaching. Also requires climbing stairs and ladders, balancing, as well as physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, and push heavy objects or materials.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round in any weather conditions.
  • Participation and successful completion of federal, state, or locally required training included but not limited to Blood borne Pathogens, HAZMAT, Chemical Safety, Emergency Action Plans, Asbestos Awareness, Emergency Equipment (fire Ext.), First Aid, PPE, Reporting Practices, Anti-Harassment, Personal Information Protection Training is mandatory.
  • Due to nature of job, an acceptable nationwide background report is required.
  • Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License and acceptable driving record is required.
