What will you be doing in this role?
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Social Work, the Supervisor of Social Work provides clinical and administrative supervision to professional social work staff. The Supervisor of Social Work is responsible for evaluating and developing assigned staff; coordinating the functions of the social work staff; implementing the policies and procedures of the Social Work Department; planning and controlling the social work function on assigned units and services; and developing and implementing continuous quality improvement activities on assigned units. Supervision is exercised over several professional staff, social work students and other support staff.
The position demands for an intensive focus on successful implementation of crisis intervention and counseling, problem-solving and conflict resolution, patient and family management, interdisciplinary collaboration, bio-psychosocial assessments, education, advocacy, and community resource linkages as well as monitoring the performance of all social workers based on established metrics.
In this role, the Supervisor provides guidance to social work staff as well as to physicians, nurses, care coordinators and other members of the care team as it relates to the treatment of individuals being admitted to Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
