    Description

    NATURE OF WORK: This position functions as an integral member of the Mental Health Division. Is responsible for program oversight and referrals of, Service Coordination within Mental Health Division. Will work closely with the Program Managers of Crisis Services, Clinical Services, Assertive Community Treatment, Supervisor of Community Supports and Mental Health Outpatient Services to help coordinate the work of these programs. Other duties include, but are not limited to, recruitment, training, evaluation, scheduling and monitoring of employees and reviewing the appropriateness of new referrals, and assigning new referrals to Service Coordinators.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Oversight of Service Coordination
    • Provide leadership, clinical supervision and administrative services to program employees to ensure the appropriate delivery of services and compliance with internal and external regulations.
    • Maintain the physical resources of programs i.e.: ordering supplies, controlling inventories, reporting losses and damages.
    • Maintain and develop procedures for provision of services in Service Coordination.
    • Monitors documentation to ensure compliance with Valley guidelines.
    • Assist in the development of, monitoring, and maintaining the Programs annual fiscal budget.
    • Participate in treatment plan meetings, staffing, and clinical meetings as needed.
    • Serve on committees as assigned.
    • Adheres to professional code of ethics and Valleys Standards of Conduct in performing and overseeing services.
    • Adheres to timely and accurate documentation standards.
    • Maintain all agency and/or professional training requirements (Mandt, CPR/First Aid, CEU, etc.).
    • Will assist in developing training modules and mentoring of staff.
    • Will in review referrals for Service Coordination and assign to Service Coordinators.
    • Continue to develop professionally by maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, adhering to professional standards, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.

    OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below.
    • BA/BS in Human Service Field.
    • One-year experience providing Service Coordination
    • Six months Supervisory/Lead experience
    • Current knowledge of Agency/Medicaids TCM, Supportive Counseling, Clinical Assessment, Documentation and IDT Requirements
    • Current working knowledge of ECET, CMHC, and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of the Mental Hygiene Commitment Process.
    • Knowledge of Crisis Intervention Services.
    • Knowledge of Community Resources.
    • Ability to comply with Clients Rights.
    • Ability to comply with all of Valleys Policies and Procedures.
    • Ability to comply with Valleys and Division departmental safety procedures.
    • Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Two-years experience with behavioral health.
    • One-year Mental Health Service Coordination Supervisory Experience.
    • LSW/TLSW Eligible

    Founded in 1969 by West Virginia University, Valley Counseling Services united with The Human Resources Association and incorporated as Valley Community Mental Health Services in 1972. Doing business as Valley HealthCare System, a nonprofit corporation, Valley has grown from a small counseling center located in the basement of a University building to a large multi-county, comprehensive behavioral health program.

    Spurred by the federal government, funds became available through the passage of the Community Mental Health Center Act of 1963, introduced by President John F. Kennedy and Valley was able to establish itself as one of 13 federally-funded mental health centers in the state in the early 1970’s.

    Over the years, Valley has continued to add to its array of services for people with disabilities, including services for individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health and chemical dependency issues.
