Position Summary
The 2nd shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations on 2nd shift to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production within a regulated medical device environment. This role leads a team of production employees, drives continuous improvement, and ensures adherence to quality systems, regulatory requirements, and company standards at IPG Medical.
Production Operations
- Supervise and coordinate daily 2nd shift production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
- Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and production schedules to ensure optimal efficiency
- Identify and resolve production issues in real time to minimize downtime
- Ensure proper use of equipment, tools, and materials
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of production associates, technicians, and/or operators
- Conduct performance management activities including feedback, coaching, and evaluations
- Schedule staffing to meet production needs, including overtime planning as necessary
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to FDA, ISO, GMP, and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain compliance with IPG Medical quality systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support audits (internal and external) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Ensure documentation accuracy and completeness
Safety
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvements
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, efficiency, scrap, and downtime
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
