ABOUT US

Okland is a commercial general contractor and construction management company with more than 1,300 team members, delivering complex projects across healthcare, semiconductor, higher education, sports, hospitality, and other specialized markets. Founded in 1918 in Salt Lake City, we have grown for more than a century and operate throughout Utah, Arizona, and Idaho.

What Makes Okland Different?

We Create Remarkable Experiences
We believe how we build is just as important as what we build, and we approach every relationship with care. From clients and trade partners to team members and communities, we focus on creating experiences that earn trust.

We Share Success
Okland combines the stability of family ownership with employee ownership through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan. This unique structure provides the long-term perspective and values-driven leadership that have guided our company for generations, while giving team members the opportunity to share the success they help create.

We Build Better Together
Our culture is rooted in accountability, humility, and excellence. We challenge the status quo, empower problem-solving, and trust our teams to take ownership and act. We learn from one another and work toward shared goals to deliver meaningful work with lasting impact. We invest in the next generation of construction talent through apprenticeships, internships, and scholarships for our communities. By expanding access for women, underrepresented groups, and families of our craft workforce who are first-generation college students, we strengthen the future of construction.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Okland is looking for a commercial construction superintendent with a proven track record of successfully leading challenging vertical construction projects with complex architectural design elements. In this role, you will oversee projects ranging from $30M-$100M in scope, managing schedules, logistics, subcontractor coordination, and field execution while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

You will thrive in this role if you are a hands-on leader who takes ownership, builds strong relationships with clients and trade partners, and creates a culture of accountability and craftsmanship on the jobsite. We are looking for builders who are passionate about delivering remarkable experiences for their teams, clients, and communities.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Field Leadership & Team Development

• Supervise field staff while maintaining productivity, safety, and performance standards across the project.
• Mentor team members and foster a positive jobsite culture built on accountability, collaboration, and ownership.
• Manage timecards, payroll submissions, and compliance with hiring practices.

Project & Schedule Management

• Develop and maintain project schedules, including master schedules and 3-week lookaheads, to keep milestones on track.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project timelines and resolve challenges proactively.
• Identify potential delays and collaborate with the project team to develop recovery plans.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety programs, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, RFIs, submittals, logs, and meeting notes.
• Lead quality checks, commissioning activities, inspections, and jurisdictional approvals.

Subcontractor & Project Execution

• Verify subcontractor work aligns with project scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
• Support contract compliance, documentation, and resolution of project issues.
• Oversee site mobilization, layout, permits, stormwater requirements, and jobsite logistics.

Closeout & Client Partnership

• Initiate closeout activities early and ensure timely completion of punch lists, inspections, and warranty items.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on change orders, cash flow, reporting, and project performance.
• Represent Okland professionally while building trusted relationships with owners, partners, and project stakeholders.

YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or 10+ years of related commercial construction experience.
• Proven experience managing complex vertical construction projects with $30M-$100M project scopes.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, safety regulations, building codes, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, CPM schedules, and contract documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with construction tools, equipment, and jobsite operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
