The Board hopes to appoint a new superintendent in early July 2026 for a start date to be negotiated but no later than October 1, 2026.
The Vernon Board of Education consists of nine (9) members elected by voters residing within the district's boundaries. Board Members serve two- or four-year terms without pay. While candidates run for a vacancy associated with one of the two political parties (i.e. Democrat or Republican), members do not represent specific groups; rather, each represents Vernon Public Schools at-large.
