Superintendent

A growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Superintendent to oversee field operations across a range of private sector projects, including retail, office, industrial, and tenant improvement work.

The Role

The Superintendent will be responsible for leading day-to-day field operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality.

This role requires someone who can operate independently on-site, coordinate subcontractors effectively, and work closely with Project Managers to drive successful project execution.

Success in this position means maintaining strong control over schedule, quality, and site coordination, while fostering a productive and safety-focused jobsite.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations from project start through completion
• Manage and maintain project schedules to ensure timely delivery
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site activities
• Enforce job site safety standards and maintain compliance
• Ensure all work meets quality expectations and project specifications
• Partner closely with Project Managers on scheduling and execution strategies
• Participate in project meetings, including OAC meetings as required
• Ensure alignment with construction drawings, specifications, and client expectations

Requirements

• Experience working as a Superintendent with a general contractor
• Background in commercial construction, with exposure to tenant improvement (TI) projects preferred
• Strong ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple trades
• Proven ability to run projects independently in the field
• Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore) is a plus

Nice to Have

• Experience working in smaller, fast-paced construction teams
• Exposure to a variety of commercial project types (retail, office, industrial)
