Superintendent, Mission Critical — Run the Field on a Build Where Every Day Counts
Reno, NV | Full-Time | $140,000 – $160,000
The Opportunity
Data centers don't get built by average field leadership. The MEP density, the commissioning demands, the schedules with zero float — mission critical work takes a superintendent at the top of their game. Our client, one of the Southwest's largest general contractors with 50 years of building and projects exceeding $100M, is hiring a Superintendent to run the field on a mission critical project in Reno. Daily site command, trade coordination, quality, safety, schedule — the build is yours from mobilization to turnover.
Why You'll Love It
- Total field authority: Your site, your standards, your schedule
- Elite project type: Mission critical field leadership is the most sought-after experience in the industry
- Strong support structure: In-house self-perform capability and a deep bench of PMs and engineers behind you
- Full benefits + Nevada: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, parental leave, PTO — no state income tax
What You'll Do
- Lead all field operations — daily site management, trade coordination, and production tracking
- Own the site schedule: three-week look-aheads, critical path management, and sequencing across MEP-dense scopes
- Drive site safety culture — orientations, toolbox talks, hazard analysis, and strict enforcement
- Coordinate trades in tight, systems-heavy spaces where sequencing mistakes are expensive
- Enforce quality standards; lead QC walks and drive first-time-right installation
- Support commissioning activities and coordinate with commissioning agents and owner technical teams
- Manage site logistics, deliveries, laydown, and access on an active site
- Run daily huddles and foreman meetings; document field activities and progress
- Partner with the PM on schedule updates, change impacts, and manpower planning
- Mentor assistant superintendents and field engineers
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of commercial construction field supervision with a general contractor
- Proven experience running large, complex projects — mission critical, data center, or MEP-intensive work strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of MEP systems coordination and commissioning workflows
- Strong scheduling instincts and command of look-ahead planning
- OSHA 30 preferred; strong safety track record required
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications
