Superintendent of Utilities

Position Summary
The Superintendent of Utilities oversees the daily construction, repair, maintenance, and operation of critical city infrastructure, including: 

1. Electric Generation, Transmission, and Distribution Systems.
2. Water Treatment Plant and Distribution.
3. Sewer Treatment Plant and Line Maintenance.
4. Streets and Miscellaneous Departments. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Supervise, train, and manage workflow for utility department personnel.
• Manage operational budgets and procurement.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations; file mandatory state and federal reports.
• Coordinate with City Administration on capital improvement projects. 

Requirements & Qualifications 

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in utility construction, maintenance, and operation (electric experience strongly preferred).
• Supervision: Demonstrated experience in personnel management and time management.
• Licensing: Must hold or have the ability to obtain necessary state licenses/certificates for Water and Sewer operations.
• Residency: Must live within 15 minutes of the municipality. 

Salary & Benefits 

• Salary: Based on experience and qualifications.
• Compensation: Paid bi-weekly.
