Superintendent - Local Multifamily Work - Charlotte

Our client is one of the top contractors in the country doing $400M+/yr, headquartered in Charlotte, NC! This client primarily builds in the education, healthcare, multifamily and educational housing sectors of the market, but they are also active in corporate interiors and other general commercial building. With a large amount of growth over the past 5 years, this exciting team is currently looking for a Superintendent with commercial construction experience to help with projects in the Charlotte market. Job Description

The Superintendent - Local Multifamily Work - Charlotte will be responsible for:

  • Meeting weekly and communicating daily with subcontractors to assess project progress, schedule, changes and deliveries.
  • Managing the site through completion.
  • Proactively identifying design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other project specific issues.
  • Attaining a thorough and complete understanding of the Prime Contract, all subcontracts, the drawings, and specifications.
  • Enforcing safety protocols to ensure job site consistently meets or exceeds OSHA safety standards.
  • Maintaining appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal lots.
  • Communicating daily with owners, tenant reps, construction managers, superintendents and project coordinators to ensure progress toward the common goal is achieved.

The Successful Applicant

The Superintendent - Local Multifamily Work - Charlotte will have:

  • 5+ years of construction Project Manager experience with a general contractor is required
  • Experience on ground-up education, healthcare, and/or commercial construction projects is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or relevant degree preferred
  • Applicable Project Management Software experience preferred
  • Developed thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project success
  • Maintains good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with anyone from clients to subcontractors
  • Must be a business-oriented person and act professionally when representing the employer at any level
  • Local to Charlotte preferred, though relocators will be considered

  • Base salary contingent on experience, ranging roughly $100,000-$150,000
