We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Sr. Superintendent to join our team in the commercial construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a variety of sectors including Retail, Restaurant, Life Science, Healthcare, Class A Office, Office, Defense, Industrial, TI, and Ground Up. This position offers a unique opportunity to oversee and manage all aspects of the construction project, ensuring it is completed on-time and within budget, while meeting the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Sr. Superintendent, you will be responsible for the following:

1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle, managing construction activities from planning to implementation.
2. Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
3. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
4. Review work progress on a daily basis, addressing any issues that arise promptly and efficiently.
5. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
6. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
7. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status, daily reports, estimates, and deliverables.
8. Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain necessary permits and licenses.
9. Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks, ensuring all safety regulations are adhered to.
10. Maintain a clean and safe job site, conducting regular site inspections.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Permanent Sr. Superintendent position, you must possess the following qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior supervisory role within the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in the Retail, Restaurant, Life Science, Healthcare, Class A Office, Office, Defense, Industrial, TI, and Ground Up sectors.
3. Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
4. Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
5. Competent in conflict and crisis management.
6. Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams.
7. Strong client-facing and communication skills.
8. Proficiency in construction management software packages.
9. BSc/BA in engineering, building science, or relevant field. PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
10. Ability to plan and see the “big picture”, with excellent organizational and leadership skills.
11. In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
12. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
13. Good knowledge of MS Office, with the ability to learn new software quickly and efficiently.
