Superintendent- Commercial Construction

COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT – WAREHOUSE & LIGHT INDUSTRIAL

A well-established General Contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee warehouse, light industrial, and commercial construction projects in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate has a strong background managing field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and delivering quality projects safely and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee daily field operations for warehouse, light industrial, and commercial construction projects

• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to maintain productivity and quality

• Coordinate project schedules, site logistics, material deliveries, and inspections

• Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements

• Monitor project progress and proactively resolve field issues and scheduling conflicts

• Conduct site meetings, maintain daily reports, and communicate progress with Project Managers

• Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and other project stakeholders

• Enforce jobsite safety standards and maintain a clean, organized construction site

• Assist with punch lists, inspections, and project closeout

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction

• Experience with warehouse, distribution center, tilt-wall, or light industrial projects strongly preferred

• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency with construction management software and project documentation tools

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, schedule, and safety standards

• OSHA 30 certification preferred
