Superintendent

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Columbia, MO area. Our client is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations and steel erection on commercial and industrial projects.

Position Responsibilities:

- Lead field crews and erection activities on assigned projects

- Plan site logistics, sequencing, crane picks, and deliveries

- Enforce safety programs and site-specific safety plans

- Maintain quality and ensure work meets drawings and specifications

- Coordinate daily with project managers, general contractors, and other trades

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Schedule manpower and equipment to meet project milestones

- Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses

- Track production, prepare daily reports, and document field changes

- Inspect completed work for bolting, welding, and alignment

- Resolve field issues with the project team and design team

Position Skills:

- 5+ years of steel erection or ironworking field leadership experience

- OSHA 30 required or ability to obtain

- Experience with rigging, crane operations, and lift planning

- Ability to read erection drawings and structural plans

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
