The Superintendent will be responsible for daily field execution, workforce management, safety, quality, production, and coordination of subcontractors and company personnel.

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day construction activities on heavy civil and underground infrastructure projects.
  • Manage craft labor, foremen, operators, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate project sequencing, logistics, and work plans.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Plan manpower, equipment, and material needs.
  • Lead daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies.
  • Coordinate inspections and interactions with owners, agencies, and utility companies.
  • Track production quantities and project progress.
  • Identify and resolve field conflicts and constructability issues.
  • Maintain project schedules and support cost control efforts.
  • Oversee excavation, utility installation, trenchless operations, shaft construction, traffic maintenance, and restoration activities.
  • Prepare daily reports and communicate progress to project management.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of heavy civil, utility, or underground construction experience.
  • 5+ years as a Superintendent leading field operations.
  • Proven experience managing multiple crews and subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of excavation, shoring, utility installation, and civil construction means and methods.
  • Experience on public infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
    • Microtunneling
    • Deep shaft construction
    • Sewer and water main projects
    • Tunnel boring operations
    • Trenchless technologies
    • Utility transmission projects
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • NYC DOB Site Safety Training
  • First Aid/CPR Certification

Compensation Expected Range: $130,000 - $180,000+ Base Salary
