Job Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all construction projects from start to completion. This position ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with TKPA Preservation & Roofing (DBA TKPA Roofing LLC) quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable building codes. The Superintendent supervises field crews, coordinates subcontractors and suppliers, performs quality control inspections, and maintains a safe and productive job site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Supervise all roofing operations on assigned projects.
- Coordinate daily activities of roofing crews and subcontractors.
- Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and schedules.
- Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
- Monitor labor productivity and project progress.
- Conduct site inspections to verify work quality and compliance.
- Resolve field issues and communicate solutions promptly.
Safety Management
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Ensure all employees use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
- Maintain a safe work environment at all times.
Quality Control
- Perform routine inspections before, during, and after installation.
- Verify materials are installed according to manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards.
- Identify deficiencies and oversee corrective actions.
- Complete punch lists and final project inspections.
Crew Leadership
- Supervise, train, and mentor roofing foremen and field personnel.
- Monitor employee attendance and performance.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
- Assist in workforce planning and crew assignments.
- Provide coaching and disciplinary recommendations when necessary.
Material & Equipment Management
- Coordinate delivery of roofing materials and equipment.
- Verify quantities and quality of received materials.
- Prevent material waste and theft.
- Ensure equipment inspections and maintenance are completed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
Customer & Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as the primary field contact for customers.
- Communicate project updates to management and clients.
- Address customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Coordinate inspections with building officials and consultants.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete daily reports, safety reports, and project logs.
- Document weather delays, labor hours, and project progress.
- Record change orders and project modifications.
- Submit reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain project records and photographs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of roofing experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or foreman experience preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial and residential roofing systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile applications.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience with project management software.
- Manufacturer certification experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
- Capability to perform jobsite inspections on active construction sites.

Work Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Occasional overtime, weekends, and emergency response may be required based on project demands.
