Job Summary

Summer Waves is hiring for the 2026 summer season to work May through Labor Day. This is a seasonal position that can expect to work weekends and holidays. The Georgia coasts favorite water park, Summer Waves, welcomes families near and far to cool off and cool down on our wet and wild attractions. With 11 acres of fun and frenzy, there is something for everyone and plenty to do. Jekyll Island

Jekyll Island is dedicated to maintaining the delicate balance between nature and humankind through conservation education and preservation. Surrounded by salt marshes, expansive oceanfront, and ancient maritime forests, it is situated within the chain of the Golden Isles and just a few miles from St. Simons Island, Sea Island, and Brunswick. Job Description

Under general supervision, is responsible for performing a variety of housekeeping duties, including:

• Cleaning and sweeping • Polishing • Waxing • Washing windows • Cleaning bathrooms • Gathering and removing litter • Emptying trash • Cleaning mirrors, floors, and sinks • Applying air fresheners

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness of park, including gathering and removing litter, gathering and emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, and applying air fresheners • Ensures mixture of water and detergents is accurate in preparing cleaning solutions according to specifications • Ensures adequate cleaning supplies are maintained • Ensures buildings and structures are cleaned and swept clean • Pressure washing of shelters, tables, and walkways • Assists in opening and closing duties, including cleaning and putting away or putting out chairs and cleaning guest areas • Performs various custodial duties as determined and directed by the Operations Manager and/or Supervisor • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old • Cleaning experience a plus • Demonstrated ability to follow guidelines and work independently • Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality for scheduled hours is required

Physical Requirements

Working Conditions:

• Exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects • More than 50% of the typical work day will be spent climbing, balancing, stooping, and/or crouching, kneeling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, or fingers • Between 25 and 50% of the typical work day will be spent crawling, walking, and lifting • Sensory abilities required are feeling, grasping, and touching with more than 50% of the time spent talking and hearing • Visual abilities to perform tasks required are determining the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures • Required to perform in outdoor environmental conditions • Exposure to extreme heat, high humidity, and occasionally adverse weather conditions as well occasional extreme cold • Will be exposed to hazards such as moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to chemicals • May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, oils, odors, dusts, mists, or poor ventilation • May be subject to close quarters, shafts, enclosed rooms, and function in narrow aisles or passageways • Noise levels are considered normal to loud
