Summer Camp Assistant Director

Summer Camp Assistant Director Allandale Farm offers an Outdoor Summer Program for children ages 4-12 for six weeks from June - August. Activities are nature and farm centered taking place entirely outdoors in our rustic environment. Kids explore all corners of our scenic farm as they discover play and make new friends. We are currently hiring experienced nature-loving educators to lead age-specific groups. Our 2025 camp dates run from June 30 - August 8 with a required orientation prior to camp start. Responsibilities The Assistant Director reports to the Director. These positions work closely together in the following ways to support the program Train camp staff including safety procedural and curricular trainings Effectively manage and serve as point person for staff family and camper communications Be present whenever camp is in session and children are present Supervise daily check-in and check-out of all campers Direct and collaborate with staff in daily operations such as leading group activities and set upbreak down Ensure the staff is adhering to all safety guidelines including those specific to outdoor and farm environments Visit groups daily to observe and support staffchild interactions Provide constructive feedback to the staff while respecting their leadership of the campers Identify and report medical and socialemotional concerns to parentsguardians and the director Ensure proper maintenance stocking and storage of camp program equipment including first aid supplies Qualifications Summer camp experience with at least two years in a leadership role in a summer camp or other equivalent program Degree in education or similar field strongly preferred Experience in farmingnatural sciencesoutdoor education strongly preferred Able to work collaboratively and independently toward shared goals Able to comfortably lift 50 lbs and work on feet in an outdoor setting all day Commitment to workplace equity and inclusion measures Adherence to environmentally sustainable workplace practices Current vaccinations and boosters A commitment to all 30 days of summer camp is required for employment Compensation 24 - 27hour based on experience 25 employee discount at our market for the duration of employment Sustainable transportation and farm vegetable benefits rev. 32026
