Our team provides legal, compliance, operational, and regulatory expertise that helps protect the credit union, support informed decision-making, and enable exceptional service to our members. The Legal Department is organized into four divisions, Office of General Counsel (OGC), Compliance, Regulatory Liaison Office (RLO), and Planning & Optimization (P&O) each playing a vital role in supporting Navy Federal's mission and strategic objectives.
Potential Summer Associate projects may include:
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of departmental projects and strategic initiatives.
Conduct research and analysis to support business decisions, operational priorities, and legal department objectives.
Contribute to special projects that provide exposure to legal, regulatory, operational, and business functions across the enterprise.
Evaluate existing processes and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
Prepare executive summaries, briefing materials, presentations, and other leadership-facing deliverables.
Assist with the development and enhancement of departmental resources, tools, and documentation.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Communications, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Project Management or other related field
Familiarity with project/program management processes and methodologies
Exposure to working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
Ability to compile, organize, and present information clearly and concisely
Familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Effective skill in exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
