Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Success Specialist on the Melbourne Campus in Melbourne, Florida.

Salary & Benefit

The annual salary is $38,108.67. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.

Position Concept

The Success Specialist provides comprehensive, high‑quality support designed to enhance student retention, persistence, and completion. This position delivers individualized academic coaching, develops and implements strategies to promote academic success, and assists students in effectively navigating the college experience. The Success Specialist contributes to the mission of Student Success & Support by actively participating in key initiatives and programs, including the First Year Experience (FYE) program, Titan2Titan, Titan Support Center programming, and the Student of Concern targeted case‑management process. The role also supports departmental initiatives involving instructional technology, technical assistance, web accessibility, and accessible online education to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Minimum Qualifications

The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • One-year experience in education. counseling, support services, or relevant related field.
  • Basic knowledge of technology used in higher education.
  • Ability to function in a high-volume environment that requires frequent multitasking and prioritization.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Completes all assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator's license required.
  • A review of Social Media activity will be part of the candidate evaluation process.
  • This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $36.00). This fingerprinting fee ($36.00) is non-refundable.

  • High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.

Minimum physical qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information and/or data from a computer.
  • Works inside in an office environment.
