Substitute Teacher

The Substitute Teacher will support our micro school’s 1st and 2nd grade classes as well as toddler and prekindergarten groups on both short- and long-term assignments. This role involves maintaining classroom order, delivering lessons, managing student behavior, and collaborating closely with regular teaching staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment. The position requires adaptability across various subjects and active communication with staff regarding student progress and classroom needs. There is no travel requirement, and the role offers opportunities for career growth through permanent placement, mentorship, and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classrooms and maintain a safe learning environment
• Deliver lesson plans and provide instructional support
• Manage student behavior and maintain classroom order
• Track attendance and report on student progress
• Adapt to teaching different subjects and age groups
• Collaborate effectively with regular teaching staff
• Communicate with staff regarding classroom needs and student behavior

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in education

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Education or relevant certification
• State Teaching Certification or CDA
• Proven skills in classroom management and lesson plan implementation
• Strong student engagement and communication abilities
• Effective time management and conflict resolution skills
• Basic proficiency in technology use for instruction
