CLASSIFICATION Substitute Nurse

LOCATION District

SALARY RANGE $31.72

QUALIFICATIONS Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides for or coordinates the provision of the health care needs identified on Individualized Education Plan Health Plan and described as follows and may include:

Seizure management including vagus nerve stimulator (VNS) Suppository administration Trach care Sterile straight catheterization Tube feedings Ventilator care Medication administration Incontinence care Transition student from wheelchair, chair, floor Nutrition management

Additional duties may include:

Assists in the identification and treatment of students with health problems that affect their ability to learn Assists in completing necessary reports, records, and documentation as required by federal, state, or local authorities related to areas of responsibility Assists with responsibilities with the building principal for student health screenings Assists in providing instructional programs on health-related issues as needed

Is available on a flexible work schedule to accommodate the differing times of schools and health programs

Assists in the establishment and maintenance of favorable relationships with parents, students, community groups, and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for the health services programs and procedures

Assists in coordinating and providing an on-going program of information and training to clinic/office assistants to improve their level of job performance

Is able to coordinate between family health care provider and other agencies in regard to students health issues

Interprets and explains the districts health services programs and procedures to staff, parents, students, and others

Performs such other duties as directed by the Director of Special Services or Superintendent

Traveling between buildings is required
