Thank you for your interest in joining the Tam District family. Our vision is that staff, students, and families will report feeling a part of a trusting, inclusive community that values multiple perspectives. The District is situated in an active, supportive community. Serving over 5,000 students in three comprehensive high schools, two alternative programs, and an adult education school. The staff of the District is caring, dedicated, equity-focused, and student-centered. The Tam District is committed to continuing to develop a racially conscious educational system and is seeking candidates who are knowledgeable of and passionate about racial equity work.
Students have access to a broad course of study and unique programming. Tam District graduates have options to pursue higher educational institutions or professions of their choice. Several schools in the district have received awards, including California Distinguished School and National Blue Ribbon School.
Job Summary
Sweep, mop, scrub, and apply floor finish. Dust, wash, finish, or polish furniture and wood surfaces. Empty and clean waste receptacles, wash windows and walls, clean restrooms. Pick up and dispose of debris, sweep and rake sidewalks and parking areas, move and arrange furniture and equipment. Polish metalwork, replace fluorescent tubes and light bulbs. Replenish restroom and custodian supplies, receive and store supplies. Turn on/off lights, unlock/lock doors and windows, report the need for repairs. Observe building activities to prevent vandalism, ensuring building security. Operate power-cleaning equipment. May operate and clean low-pressure heating systems. May train and supervise student aides. Assist with emergency cleaning to preserve health and safety. Remove and/or paint over graffiti. Assemble new furniture as time allows.
