Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to fill the role of Substitute Cook/Food Service at Onalaska Elementary. This position is essential in ensuring that our students receive nutritious and delicious meals in a safe and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, possess a passion for food service, and be able to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and guidelines.
- Assist in the setup and serving of food during meal times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food service areas.
- Follow food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure a safe dining experience.
- Assist in inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
- Support the regular kitchen staff in their duties as needed.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding food service operations.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the food service manager or supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
