This position provides as-needed coverage when the regular Cafeteria Manager is unavailable and helps ensure students continue to receive nutritious meals in a welcoming, well-run cafeteria. What You'll Do:As a Substitute Cafeteria Manager, you will:Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines;Oversee daily cafeteria operations during the absence of the Cafeteria Manager;Follow established food safety, sanitation, and meal service procedures;Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and food service area;Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment;Monitor food temperatures and complete required food service documentation;Receive, organize, and properly store food and supplies;Follow established procedures for meal counts, point-of-sale operations, and other required records;Provide friendly and professional service to students and staff; andPerform other food service duties as needed to support cafeteria operations. Requirements:Candidates should:Pick up and deliver meals for service to students;Prepare supplemental food items, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, as needed;Set up and organize the cafeteria for meal service;Serve meals to students in accordance with established portions and procedures;Follow established food safety, sanitation, and meal service procedures;Monitor and record food temperatures as required;Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and food service area;Follow established procedures for meal counts, point-of-sale operations, and required records;Properly store food, supplies, and equipment;Provide friendly and professional service to students and staff;Complete end-of-service cleanup and closing procedures; andPerform other duties as needed to support cafeteria operations. Schedule & Assignments:The Substitute Cafeteria Manager works as needed during the school year at Cornwall Consolidated School to provide coverage when the regular Cafeteria Manager is unavailable.
