JOB SUMMARY
The job of supervision para educator is done for the purpose of ensuring student safety by supervising and facilitating activities. Responsibilities vary with individual assignment, but typically include student supervision and maintaining safety, behavior, decorum, and order. This position requires assisting with special transportation needs of preschool, elementary, and secondary students on the school bus ride to school and home from school.

A person working in this position will exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally while carrying, pushing, and/or pulling to move objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unaided and may lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of another person and/or a lift assist. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or ordinary infectious diseases carried by students.

The Salary Range for Bus Assistants is Min $19.13 - Max $19.13 per hour. Substitutes will accrue 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Substitutes who work 630 hours will become benefit eligible for the remainder of the school year. Standard benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability.
