    Description

    Substation General Foreman
    Luzerne County, PA 
    Compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience
    Day shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00AM-3:30pm
    • Oversee, coordinate, pre-planand schedule all aspects of multiple electrical construction projects,
    • Expertise in 138kV, 69kV and15kV equipment and all types of testing equipment and circuits.
    • Ability to lay out all types of work includingsite and civil work.
    • Apply complete and thorough knowledge of all electricalmaterials, tools tasks as needed in a commercial, industrial or specialtyelectrical installation.
    • Ability to travel onprojects outside of local area, may require travel and overnight stay atout-of- town project site for extended periods of time.
    • Skilled expertise in 138kV,69kV and 15kV installations, troubleshooting and working in and around mediumand high voltage equipment.
    • Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills to build and maintain professional relationships betweencompany, customers, management, field team, vendors and subcontractors.
    • Proficiency in all jobresponsibilities and essential duties as required of a company Foreman.
    • Execute and manage requiredpaperwork daily including but not limited to manpower scheduling, daily journaland associated team tasks.
    • Excellent ability to analyze,interpret and understand blueprints, including architectural, civil,electrical, fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, drawings and work scope andchange orders.
    • Management and collection ofbill of materials and identification of project labor needs for effectivechange order management and time and material work. Keep track of and monitorall change order opportunities and risk.
    • Responsible for change order approvalprior to work being completed.
    • Review and approval ofmanpower timecards, electronic and manual, on a weekly basis for submittal toproject management and payroll by Monday morning.
    • Attend weekly and monthlycompany meetings relevant to improving the team and company as a whole asrequired for project and leadership success.
    • Proficient in all types oftroubleshooting of electrical systems on a commercial, industrial and specialtyelectrical systems.
    • Coordination of all requiredinspections for projects.

    • Ensure that all projectrelated materials, tools and equipment are maintained in an orderly and safeworking fashion. Maintain clean work areas daily.
    • Supervise, mentor andevaluate crew team members and complete ongoing and yearly performanceevaluations.
    • Communicate with otheremployees, management and customers in a professional manner.
    • Conform to company policies,procedures and safety requirements.

    Requirements

    • Possess a Journeyperson cardor equivalent.
    • Possess valid CPR/First Aidcertification.
    • Valid OSHA 30 certified.
    • Expertise in 138kV, 69kV and15kV equipment and all types of testing equipment and circuits.
    • Excellent communication,leadership and supervision skills.
    • Manage and oversee allaspects of the construction project as the General Foreman on site.
    • Working knowledge of the mostcurrent National Electric Code (NEC) and NFPA70E. Attend approved seminars forthe current National Electrical Code (NEC).
    • Proficiency with computer andrelevant job required hardware/software (i.e. iPad, laptop)
    • Proficiency in testingelectrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment,or fixture using testing devices and meters such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ormeggers.
    • Perform physically demandingtasks such as digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment,laying conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects.
    • Capable of operatingtwo-handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools,jack hammers, etc.
    • Operate and work frommechanical hydraulic lifts (electric or gas powered).
    • Operate company trucks withmanual and automatic transmission.
    • Operate all types ofequipment including but not limited to bucket truck, backhoes, trenchers andline trucks in a safe manner.
    • Ability to communicate welland give and follow instructions.

    • Minimum of five (5) years’experience in supervisory/team leader role with demonstrated project leadershipand management abilities.
    • High School Graduate orGeneral Education Degree (GED)
    • Journeyperson certificate orequivalent work experience.
    • Valid Driver’s License andsatisfactory driving record.
    • OSHA 30 certification
    • Aerial and forkliftcertification
    • Valid first aid/CPRcertification
