With a strong focus on innovation, safety, and sustainability, the organization plays a key role in supporting grid modernization, renewable energy integration, and long-term infrastructure resilience.Job DescriptionPerform engineering and design for new substations and substation expansions (12kV through 500kV).Develop one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, protection and control drawings, and physical layouts.Prepare equipment specifications for transformers, breakers, disconnect switches, relays, bus systems, and associated substation equipment.Conduct engineering studies including load flow, short-circuit, grounding, insulation coordination, and relay coordination analyses.Support protection and control design activities and coordinate with relay engineering teams.Review vendor drawings and technical submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, utility clients, and other engineering disciplines.Support construction activities by responding to RFIs, reviewing field changes, and participating in commissioning efforts.Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations, including IEEE, ANSI, NESC, NEC, and utility-specific requirements.Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining quality standards.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
