    Hybrid F/T Correctional Substance Use Disorder Assessor


    MindCare Solutions, a clinician-owned and operated leader in comprehensive mental health care, is seeking a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), with LPC, LCSW, or LMFT also accepted, to provide high-quality mental health and substance use services within a corrections facility.     Rate: negotiable

    Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday

    Locations: Hybrid – virtual assessments plus periodic on-site/statewide coverage.

    Position Summary:

    • Complete SUD assessments and evaluations for incarcerated individuals to identify substance use needs and determine appropriate treatment recommendations.
    • Conduct approximately 4–5 assessments per day, with additional assessments or reassessments completed as clinically required.
    • Utilize ASAM criteria and criminogenic-risk factors to assess treatment needs and recommend the appropriate level of care.
    • Provide assessments through both virtual and on-site services, based on program needs and scheduling.
    • Collaborate with SUD clinical and program leadership to ensure appropriate recommendations, continuity of care, and alignment with program requirements.
    • Maintain accurate, consistent, and timely clinical documentation for all assessments and reassessments.
    • Support efforts to reduce the existing assessment backlog of approximately 250–350 assessments while maintaining quality and clinical standards.


    Qualifications:

    • Preferred: Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)
    • Preferred: Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS)
    • Also acceptable: LPC, LCSW or LMFT
    • Candidates without an addiction-specific credential must have demonstrated SUD and assessment experience
    • Experience performing SUD/ASAM assessments strongly preferred
    • Correctional experience strongly preferred
    • Comfortable working with incarcerated populations
    • Able/willing to travel to facilities as required
    • Must be able to meet background/security requirements
