    Substance Abuse Specialist

    Position Summary

    Under the supervision of the Director of the Mobile Treatment Program, the Substance Abuse Specialist provides direct mental health and substance use services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness. This role uses Evidence-Based Practices and the Recovery Model and works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Experience working with adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders is preferred.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field required

    Experience

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with adults with mental illness and substance use disorders

    Certification/Licensure

    • Current CAC-AD or CSC-AD certification required
    • Valid driver's license or reliable transportation to travel independently within the service area required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Knowledge of individual, group, and family education techniques for substance use treatment
    • Ability to provide stage-based treatment and build supportive, trusting relationships with clients
    • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate services with providers
    • Commitment to client rights, personal preferences, and recovery-oriented care

    Salary Range: Minimum 21.88/hour - Maximum 36.13/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
