Mission

We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Sub System Technical Lead (SSTL) to serve as the primary vehicle-level point of contact for our Harness Development North America (HDNA) organization.

In this cross-functional leadership role, you will plan, execute, and deliver vehicle wiring subsystem projects from concept through production while keeping organizational goals tightly aligned. You will bridge the gap between HDNA engineering teams, tier-1 suppliers, assembly plant stakeholders, and executive leadership, taking ultimate accountability for subsystem budgets, technical milestones, and launch quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project & Budget Management: Plan and execute vehicle programs while tracking KPIs and delivering regular stakeholder reports. Oversee subsystem budgets, including comprehensive cost rollups and asset allocations.

  • Supplier Milestone Governance: Lead and communicate all supplier-critical deadlines, including iSpeed freezes, DEF imports/exports, design freezes, CN approvals, print releases, and component deliveries.

  • Plant Launch & Manufacturing Support: Lead Assembly Plant Pilot builds and coordinate PER trials. Collaborate closely with plant stakeholders and the EE SWAT team for End of Line (EOL) vehicle verification, assembly plant clean points, and service actions.

  • Issue & Quality Management: Oversee GIMS/Issue Management and burn-down tracking. Monitor EBOM changes, drive Quality/Warranty analysis, and implement corrective actions for field or manufacturing concerns.

  • Engineering Team Liaison: Translate overarching vehicle requirements into actionable support for HDNA Engineering Teams. Support part sign-offs, physical component verifications, DV/PV testing phases, and Off-Tool parts activities.

  • Standardization & Best Practices: Lead HDNA program reviews, manage technical bulletin responses to the vehicle teams, drive component standardization, and spearhead competitive benchmarking activities.

Profile

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of automotive experience.

  • Technical Background: Direct experience with transportation wiring design/release OR vehicle electrical system troubleshooting (e.g., SWAT, rapid root cause analysis).

  • Program Management: Proven track record leading projects and managing complex technical deliverables.

  • Communication & Software: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to create high-quality, executive-ready presentation materials. Proficient with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal training in DFMEA, DVP&R, and DFSS tools and processes.

  • Working knowledge of CAD systems such as NX or CATIA.

  • Familiarity reading and interpreting wiring harness drawings and technical specifications.

  • Professional experience working inside high-volume vehicle manufacturing facilities.

  • Professional fluency in both Spanish and English is highly advantageous.

  • Experience with web publishing and SharePoint data management environments.

Why Join Us?

This role sits at the intersection of product engineering, supplier management, and vehicle assembly operations. If you are a natural leader who thrives on cross-functional alignment and seeing complex electrical architectures come to life on the assembly line, this high-visibility position is for you.
