Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a skilled Sub Arc / Stick Welder to join a growing fabrication team in Claremore. This position is responsible for performing Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding on large metal components, including pipes, tanks, and structural assemblies while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

Required Experience & Skills
• Previous Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) experience preferred
• Experience performing Stick (SMAW) welding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
• Knowledge of welding equipment setup and operation
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic



Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) on pipes, tanks, structural components, and fabricated assemblies
• Perform Stick (SMAW) welding as required by production specifications
• Set up, adjust, and operate welding machines and related equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding procedures
• Monitor welding operations to ensure proper penetration, bead appearance, and weld integrity
• Inspect completed welds to verify compliance with quality and safety standards
• Clean and prepare materials before and after welding operations
• Perform basic maintenance and daily inspections of welding equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies and production procedures while meeting daily production goals



Preferred Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Welding certification preferred
• Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industrial environments
• Experience welding pressure vessels, tanks, or structural steel is a plus



Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in multiple welding positions throughout the shift
• Ability to safely operate welding equipment while wearing required PPE
• Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding fumes, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery
