    General Summary

    COLSA Corporation is hiring for a UAS Specialist to join our Uncrewed Systems Department where you will participate in the integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

    • Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones
    • Makes recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.
    • Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
    • Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc.
    • Documents processes and build techniques
    • Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues
    • Participates in testing, data collection and analysis
    • Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement
    • May assist operations and training team with curriculum and training demonstrations
    • Travel for field testing and/or project meetings
    • May pilot drone following a specific flight plan or obtaining useful footage

    Required Experience

    Required Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 2-5 years of related experience
    • Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance within 6 months of hire; US Citizenship required
    • Willing and able to travel with UAS Operations and Training teams up to 10% (as needed)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience operating within a DoD environment
    • Familiarity with mechanical systems and parts compliance requirements
    • Experience with sUAS design, prototyping, and assembly is a plus
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematic blueprints
