Student Worker - Peer Tutor

Job Summary:

Assist DVU students with understanding materials and concepts for specific courses and subjects. Help students develop effective study and learning strategies for specific courses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Tutor DVU students in course content.
• Suggest effective study and learning strategies.
• Submit the required documentation of time and specific tutoring activities.
• Ask tutored students to complete the feedback form and/or to submit other relevant information.
• Complete all communicated training requirements by the appropriate deadline(s).
• Other duties as assigned.

Education Employment eligibility:

• Currently enrolled Delaware Valley University student.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide required documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have completed courses they wish to tutor with a minimum grade of "B" at DelVal or must have completed the equivalent course(s)/subject(s) at another accredited college/university. with a minimum grade of "B" as indicated on a transcript.
• Must be recommended by a DVU faculty member.
• Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with peers.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Prolonged periods of sitting.
