Job Summary

Position Purpose

This CLA position provides direct support for student technology software and hardware, as well as supporting student account management. The position works independently with students while interacting closely with program faculty and staff members to provide instructional support for classroom software, hardware and associated peripherals (including advanced printing technologies) and administrative tools.

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee operation and provide direct support to students in using Century College student technology hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.

  • Maintain availability of supplies and operational computer systems and peripherals in designated student-use technology areas.

  • Collaborate regularly with aligned faculty to coordinate lab activities with classroom activities and ensure safe usage of laboratory equipment.

  • Maintain physical and logical security for equipment and supplies in student-use technology areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience in computer software applications OR
  • 6 months of teaching/tutoring experience in computer software applications at the high school level or above OR
  • An equivalent combination of work and education (a post-secondary or industry certificate/diploma/degree in computer software applications or closely-related field may substitute for one year of experience)

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to lift 25 pounds (or more) on a regular basis, as well as regular bending, stooping, and crouching during installations and troubleshooting. This position requires the ability to lift both arms over the head to perform installations or troubleshooting equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to quickly learn new hardware and software in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor.
