About This Role

The Student Services Coordinator/ESS is responsible for providing a variety of support services to help ESS participants attain their educational and personal goals. Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating educational enrichment programs to enhance participants' skills in navigating post-secondary coursework, financial literacy, financial aid, degree planning, career planning, and preparation for graduate school admissions.

Since 1972, TRIO Educational Supportive Services (ESS) has focused on student success by providing comprehensive support for students who are first-generation, income-limited, and/or have a documented disability. TRIO ESS accepts 300 students each year, offering 1-1 services that help participants maintain a good GPA, persist year to year, and graduate on time.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site. On-site 5 days per week

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You''ll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent)
• Five years of relevant experience.
• Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in related field.
• Excellent management and communication skills with the ability to work effectively and foster a cooperative environment within the department and its constituencies.
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
• Initiative and strong interpersonal skills for meeting the needs of the student population and for relating effectively with faculty, staff and administrators.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience working with students in higher education.
• Experience with or knowledge of the Federal Financial Aid program and its application process.
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency in public speaking.
• Experience working in TRIO or similar programs.
