    Student Management Officer JobID: 461 Position Type: Administration/Assistant PrincipalDate Posted: 9/2/2026Location: UME Prep Dallas High School Additional Information: Show/HideJob DescriptionStudent Management Officer Primarily Reports to: Campus PrincipalSecondarily Reports to: SuperintendentPrimary Purpose:Support campus administration in maintaining a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment that promotes student success and complies with district policies, the Texas Education Agency Student Code of Conduct, and applicable state and federal laws. Assist with student behavior management, attendance intervention, conflict resolution, and campus supervision. QualificationsEducation/Certification:High school diploma or GED requiredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Education, Behavioral Sciences, or related field preferredCPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or de-escalation training preferredValid Texas driver's license, if travel is requiredExperience:Experience working with youth in an educational, behavioral, law enforcement, or community setting preferredExperience with student discipline, conflict mediation, or behavior intervention preferredSpecial Knowledge & Skills:Knowledge of student behavior management strategies and intervention techniquesFamiliarity with district discipline procedures and student conduct expectationsUnderstanding of applicable laws related to student discipline, attendance, and campus safetyAbility to de-escalate conflicts and respond calmly in stressful situationsStrong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and professional boundariesAbility to work collaboratively with students, parents, administrators, and staffBasic computer and recordkeeping skillsMajor Responsibilities and DutiesStudent Behavior & Discipline:Assist administrators in maintaining student discipline and enforcing the Student Code of ConductMonitor student behavior in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, buses, and other campus areasIntervene in student conflicts and assist with de-escalation and resolution effortsSupport implementation of behavior intervention plans and restorative practices, as assigned Campus Safety & Supervision:Assist in maintaining a safe and secure school environmentSupervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch periods, extracurricular activities, and other campus eventsMonitor campus access points and report safety concerns to administratorsRespond appropriately to emergencies, disruptions, or incidents involving studentsAttendance & Student Support:Assist with attendance monitoring and intervention efforts to improve student attendanceBuild positive relationships with students to encourage appropriate behavior and engagementRefer students to counselors, administrators, or support services when appropriateSupport students in developing conflict-resolution, responsibility, and decision-making skillsDocumentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate records of incidents, referrals, interventions, and disciplinary actionsPrepare written reports and documentation as required by district proceduresAssist administrators with investigations related to student misconduct, as assignedCommunication & Collaboration:Communicate professionally with students, parents, staff, and community membersCollaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and support personnel to address student needsParticipate in staff meetings, campus safety planning, and professional development activitiesWorking Conditions:Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout campusMay require physical restraint consistent with district training and policy when necessary to maintain safetyOccasional evening or weekend assignments for school activities or eventsExposure to potentially disruptive or confrontational situationsSo that parents will have enhanced opportunities to strengthen their families as they exercise greater influence over the spiritual, intellectual, and emotional growth of their children.
