Description

Position Title: Student Information System and Data Coordinator Salary: $78,000 - $85,000 Depending on experience. Work Year: 12 month position Reports To: Superintendent of Schools and IT Director or Designee Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates, verifies and submits data reports to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and other agencies
  • Acts as internal consultant on Student Information System (SIS) (Follett Aspen) and to district staff
  • Integrates SIS with other district systems
  • Works in a team to accomplish IT projects
  • Provides entry of data into district systems including those in the SIS
  • Builds procedures for export and import of data to and from the SIS
  • Manages/updates accounts in all systems as needed. Systems include, but are not limited to: data transfers for communication systems such as email, parent notification, and collaboration services for the purpose of providing up-to-date information for proper functioning and availability for communication, Google for Education, Active Directory, telephone systems and Emergency Notifications Systems (ENS)
  • Serves as a technical resource to department and district staff for the purpose of providing information and/or advice regarding active or planned projects
  • Prepares a variety of materials (e.g. procedures, system level documentation, reports, memos, logistics etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information
  • Provides training and instruction for staff in all district systems
  • Assists administration in scheduling, grading and reporting, as well as, data rollover for new school year
  • Provides updates on projects and other work to the IT Director and Executive Director of Academics and Accountability.
  • Submits Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs) to software vendors and obtains signature/approval
  • Assists district with software conversion and implementation.
  • Oversees security within databases
  • Troubleshoots system issues as needed
  • Manages data exchange between district software vendors including massaging data for imports and exports
  • Creates field sets, templates and queries as determined in the SIS.
  • Provides data analysis and leads data meetings with staff and administration in order to inform decision making
  • Create relevant reports and train staff on accessing reports
  • Attends trainings as needed to remain current on database management
  • Assists in maintenance and preparation of student test data
  • Participates in meetings, workshops and/or trainings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering required information
  • Researches a variety of topics (e.g. trends, hardware, software, etc.) for the purpose of recommending procedures and/or purchases.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment - Track, run reports on, and input Professional Development Points (PDPs) -Track, run reports on and input staff professional licensure
