The student IE is a year-round, part-time internship position supporting the Publix Pharmacy distribution center and Central Pharmacy operations. Central Pharmacy includes three key functions: remote processing for store pharmacies, specialty and compounding support, and a highly-automated central fill facility where robots fill customer prescriptions. You'll be based in our central fill facility located near the Florida Mall in Orlando and will support the local central pharmacy and pharmacy distribution center operations.

Because school comes first, we offer a flexible work schedule to accommodate your classes and coursework. Our goal is to provide the student as much exposure as possible to the day-to-day work of a full-time industrial engineer, so you'll work directly with Publix IEs to assist them with projects for our Pharmacy operations, including:

• process improvement and standardization,
• time and motion studies,
• capacity planning, and
• analytical decision support
• Junior, Senior, or graduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a closely related discipline.
• Ability to work 20 or more hours weekly.
• Valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation.
• Working knowledge of Excel (knowledge of Access, Outlook, and Word is a plus).
• Desire and ability to pick up additional computer skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• A desire to learn and grow.
• Current or prior Publix work experience
• Prior internship experience
• Graduating December 2027 or later

10% 2424 Orlando Central PkwyOrlandoFlorida 32809Work Environment: Work primarily in an office environment with some work on the central fill and pharmacy warehouse production areas. The temperature range for the pharmacy facilities is 70 to 75 degrees. There is a possibility to support other Orlando Distribution warehouses for special projects, where temperatures range from 35° to the ambient Florida summer temperature.

Hours of Work: We support a flexible schedule to meet the student's class schedule, and in return we require a commitment of at least 20 hours per week. Depending on the student's availability and project work, up to 40 hours per week may be available (e.g., during the summer).
