    Goldman Center for Student Accessibility & Student Conduct Graduate Assistant

    Position Summary:

    This Graduate Assistant (GA) reports directly to the leadership of the Goldman Center for Student Accessibility and the Office of Student Conduct at Tulane University. The GA will provide operational, administrative, and programmatic support to both offices, with primary responsibilities housed within the Goldman Center for Student Accessibility. The Graduate Assistant will serve as a key front-line representative for the office, supporting students, faculty, staff, and parents/families through in-person, phone, and email communication while promoting a welcoming, accessible, and student-centered environment.

    The GA will assist with daily office operations, digital accessibility initiatives, assistive technology support, communications, social media and marketing efforts, records management, and special projects. The position also provides support to Student Conduct initiatives as needed, including Conduct sanction facilitation on select weekend dates, educational programming, and operational support for conduct-related actions and projects.

    The Goldman Center experiences the highest operational demand during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm). This position requires in-person availability for support on Tulane University's Uptown campus during standard office hours without the opportunity for remote work due to the responsibilities of the position. On occasion, this position will be responsible for supporting Student Conduct outside of business hours, typically on Saturday mornings.

    Requirements and Remuneration:

    • Bachelor's degree is required
    • Must be enrolled in a Tulane graduate program
    • 10-month appointment
    • Approximately 20 hours per week, primarily during standard business hours Monday through Friday with additional support required on several weekends and evenings throughout the year
    • In-person work on the Uptown campus; remote work not available
    • Stipend and compensation information TBD

    • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive student information with discretion and professionalism.
    • Demonstrated commitment to accessibility, disability inclusion, and equitable student support.
    • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality work output.
    • Experience with social media management, marketing, or digital communications preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general office technology.

    Position-Specific Responsibilities:

    • Serve as front-line office support for the Goldman Center for Student Accessibility by assisting students, faculty, staff, and parents/families via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
    • Monitor and manage departmental email accounts, phone calls, and office traffic.
    • Maintain a welcoming, accessible, and professional office environment.
    • Assist with operational and administrative support for accessibility and accommodation processes.
    • Support digital accessibility initiatives and help ensure communications and materials align with accessibility best practices.
    • Assist with social media content creation, marketing efforts, and departmental communications.
    • Support records management, data entry, filing, and other administrative projects.
    • Assist the Goldman Center and Student Conduct with research, reporting, initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
    • Assist with advance preparation, training, and supervision related to weekend neighborhood clean-ups assigned as student conduct sanctions.
    • Support educational programming and outreach efforts related to student conduct and community responsibility.
    • Collaborate with professional staff across Student Affairs and campus partners as appropriate.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with supervisors.
    • Provide reliable support during regular business operations.
    • Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
    • Assist with special events and initiatives.
    • Other duties as assigned by departmental leadership.

    Orientation and Training:

    • Individual unit training with the Goldman Center and Student Conduct.
    • Division of Student Affairs (DSA) Graduate Assistant Orientation.
    • Training related to confidentiality, disability services, accessibility standards, and student support practices.
    • Campus resource and referral training.
    • Training related to student conduct processes and educational sanctions.
    • Meetings with campus partners within Student Affairs and across the university.
