Reports To: Director/Interim Director

Collaborates With: Data Strategist; Program Manager; AEO staff; Climate Survey Committee

Position Summary

The Graduate Student Data Intern supports data analysis, research, and assessment initiatives for the Office of Academic Excellence and Opportunity. This role plays a key part in advancing data-informed decision-making and will directly support the preparation, launch, and execution of the 2027 Climate Survey.

The intern will work on independent, project-based assignments while collaborating with staff across the office. This position is designed for a doctoral-level student with strong analytical, research, and communication skills seeking applied experience in higher education data strategy.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a PhD program with a strong focus on data analysis, research methods, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis (quantitative and/or qualitative)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage independent, project-based work
  • Approximately 15 hours per week during standard business hours
  • Hybrid work arrangement with on-campus presence at least twice a week

  • Analyze and interpret datasets
  • Develop reports and summaries

Climate Survey Support (25%)

  • Assist with survey preparation, launch, and analysis
  • Work with Climate Survey Committee

Research & Strategic Projects (25%)

  • Conduct applied research projects
  • Support strategic planning

Data Systems & Infrastructure (10%)

  • Maintain data systems and documentation

Event Support (5%)

  • Provide limited support for assessment-related events
