Nature & Purpose of Position

Recitation and Wellness Mentors facilitate a 2 credit-hour, Instructor-Informed, Student-Led course.

In this role, you will create a welcoming, student-centered environment that promotes academic success and holistic well-being. Mentors prepare for and lead weekly 1-hour-50-minute class sessions with faculty guidance. Sessions are interactive and student-driven, not lecture-based.

You'll guide your peers through discussion, critical thinking activities, and wellness integration. All with the support of nursing faculty. This role is more than just leading a class. It's an opportunity to grow as a leader, educator, and nurse.

What You'll Do

  • Lead weekly, interactive class session with faculty support
  • Prepare materials and complete required post-session activities
  • Integrate wellness strategies and model healthy habits
  • Attend monthly debriefing meeting and an end-of-semester wrap-up meeting

Other Requirements for the Position

  • Minimum nursing GPA 3.0 (preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
